Surya = Sun;
Namaskaram = Acknowledgement, respect, greeting.
Some women (sometimes) pray naked to appease the gods.
For example, in Nepal, some farmer women work naked in the fields to appease the god INDRA, so that he may bless their fields with rain. They believe he will.
BBC reports say this is done once a year.*****
Men are required to stay at home and not go to the fields when their wives perform the above mentioned ritual.
*****Am 99% sure it is done once a year, but am crosschecking once again, to make sure. Will update soon.

This is not true. You are maligning hindus. Who told you hindu women pray naked?
Hinduism is a pure religion, and focuses on God almighty and mental purity. Hindu culture is pious and not unclean. It is not a sex religion. Naked prayer has no meaning and is not a part of hinduism.
This is not true. as you define here about Hinduism and culture of Nepal............ i am agree with Ramesh Singh chavan. Its also not true in Nepal once a year farmer women work as you say. only in some time in a decade.
I will answer both of you very soon. Am a bit busy right now. See my response to 'grasshopper' in the Cbox in the right sidebar, but if you have any further comments, leave them here and not in the sidebar cbox.
Thank you.
Ramesh Singh and Sameer:
Kindly read my exchange with 'Grasshopper' in the CBox (in right sidebar of my blog). I will address the issues you both have raised in more detail in my next comment.

Wow, this is so beautiful, so sensual and so aesthetic. About praying naked, this is something I havent heard of. How do you know? Not that I dont like the idea, it sounds like fun, but I doubt.
Vikram:
Hi Grasshopper, its not something that's discussed openly, for obvious reasons. Read some Hindu Tantra books, they are full of rituals that involve praying naked.

Absolutely lovely picture!
Personally, I for the life of me cannot see how praying naked would have an adverse effect on the purity of ones intention. I don't practice Hindu religion, and my knowledge is limited, but it would seem to me that offering up prayer in our naked physical aspect would be one of the purist of all ways to proclaim our divinity in becoming our true spirit.
