Faith, Reason, Courage, Death

A perspective...worshippers of the fierce Goddess Kali believe that fear, terror and danger do not come alone. That they always come along with Kali's protective shade. But often, the human is unable to feel her love and protection because his mind is frozen in fear and terror.

In such times, deep faith is necessary that one is not unprotected.

Part 2: Reason
"The unexamined life is not worth living." - Socrates.

We always examine every paper document that comes our way. We don't assume that these papers are perfect and factual.

Same way we should not assume that 'thought documents', which include memories, are 100% true and factual. Because such an assumption would mean we are giving the mind omnipotent, God like status.

Whether we consider the psychological self ("I") to have been born from the mind, or whether we consider the "I" to have existed prior to the mind, or whether we question its very ontology - in all cases - there is a transcendental agency within us, that has the ability to view the mind from a distance, and question it, reject it whenever required. This agency must be nurtured.

Example of this transcendental agency in action - a quote by Swami Vivekananda - "Every thought that strengthens you must be taken up, and every thought that weakens you must be rejected"

"Your worst fears have never come true. And even if they have - you're still here. Present. Alive. Breathing. In this moment, life is brand new. What you are cannot be destroyed." - Jeff Foster
