Spiritual Sex Part 1

© 2005-2007 Lovisa, www.lovisa.deviantart.comI have often come across people who say 'sex is a spiritual experience' or 'sex should be a spiritual experience'. But they can't elaborate on what spiritual sex should be like. This blog entry is an attempt towards discussing 'spiritual sex'.

I believe that sex becomes spiritual when the people involved allow their minds to fall silent during the act. Imagine a sexual scenario in which your mind is silent and still and calm. If your mind is still and calm, the mental lens vanishes.

___
(The mental lens is explained in this blog entry.)
___

So, when the mental lens is no longer there, you experience the sights, sounds & sensations of sex perfectly clearly. Sex now becomes more enjoyable because your senses are no longer dullened by the mental lens. Becomes more erotic.

This kind of sex should be performed slowly, in a calm manner. Each moment of sex becomes perfect when the minds involved are calm.

The partners should avoid talking during sex unless it's necessary.

Two minds can connect with each other at a very deep level if they are silent and calm. Sex acts as the catalyst. This kind of sex is spiritual, it is holy.

Summary: The sexual experience becomes more intense when the mind is calm. Because the mental lens is not there and there is oneness between the partners.

VERY lovely post! I completely agree.

Sex has become animalistic and primitive in much of the "developed" world... but true intimacy, connection, and unity comes from the deep beauty that is found when two people blend their energy in fullness.

Excellent post!

Hi Jen,
Thanks for the kind compliments. I believe sex was always animalistic, everywhere, in the human world. Because the emotional world in the average human is very violent.
Yes, I agree that true intimacy and connection comes from the beauty that comes when two people blend their energies, instead of using their energies to haul each other down.
Thanks again for your compliments. Have a great day!

HI Vikram annother excellent post. I have been writing something similar on my website (not my blog something im working on right now) as its something I am learning more about each day. As I said in my own blog I have not had a libido for a long time and this energy came through recently through dancing, through moving my spine, my arts my hands and it comes and goes.

When I eventually do have sex with another man I would love nothing more than this intimacy.

A friend of mine was reading a book which totally intrigued me it was about a version of tantra where the man for almost 1 week did nothing with the woman but gaze loving at her Yoni no touching, nothing else just adoring the womanly vision that she is and isnt this what many women really want to be viewed as a beautiful Goddess perhaps its time for change.
