The Search for God

The fundamental flaw in the 'search for God' is 'search'.

The 'search for God' is no different from the 'search for enlightenment' or 'search for the self' or the 'search for sleep'. If you start searching for sleep, start wanting it, analysing it, praying for it, it will not come. Give up the search, and it may come...the beyond doubt DIRECT experience.

Another way of looking at the search for God-----'God', if real, could perhaps be waiting for us to do something 'real'.......all our thoughts and emotions are so very second hand, so torn apart, it's almost like we are not real.

This 'real' something could be developing the ability to love someone beyond addictive clinging.

(Another way of looking at the 'search for God' is comparing it to the 'search for women'. The more you chase women, the more they run away from you!)

Humanity at times take the simpilist of things and ponder of them so much to find an answer to the equation- that they miss the whole concept amongst the problem solving.

As a Follower of Christ- I know God is there.
How do I know? because he said so

And yet, when you do not ever take the time to talk to him, of course you will never know.

Hi Callie,

I am not addressing God's existence in this post. I do not know whether God is real.

I am addressing the SEARCH (for God, or enlightenment etc.).

The SEARCH is about what the 'DOER' tries..the 'DOER' does not succeed. This is what I am saying.

For example, like I say in the post---if you SEARCH for sleep, you may not find it. So do NOT search. Life does not give things to a person just because he seeks aggressively. Aggression leads to failure, heartaches, violence, depression and nothing else.

The ultimate truth is 'peace of mind'. Aggression and peace of mind are opposites of each other.

The 'SEARCH' is aggression.
